Abstract

Jalisco is one of the main areas in Mexico that produces avocados (Persea americana Miller), and the adults of Euphoria basalis (Gory & Percheron) have been detected on avocado inflorescences where they feed and cause the flowers to fall prematurely. To our knowledge, this is the first report of the association of this species with P. americana trees in Mexico.
