The purpose of this application, under Articles 23.9.3 and 81, is to maintain usage of the junior homonym Chaetosoma Westwood, 1851 and of the junior synonym Apodasya Pascoe, 1863 over the newly discovered older name Chaetosoma Chevrolat, 1843. The Commission is also asked to conserve the beetle family-group name chaetosomatidae Crowson, 1952 by suppressing the older but permanently invalid nematode name chaetosomatidae Claus, 1872.
