Abstract

The spatial pattern and its time-series dynamics of Eotetranychus pruni (Oudemans) (EPO) were studied in 1994 on apple trees in Gansu, China. The results showed that the active individuals of EPO were aggregatively distributed as colonies both within tree and among trees and the aggregaion intensity within trees was higher that that between trees. The active mites aggregatively disperse within trees. The time-series dynamics of spatial patterns can be divided into two phases: earlier phase (before June) and later phase (after July). The formula for data transformation x′ = log (x 1) was provided, based on the spatial pattern of EPO.
