Remarkable finds and rediscoveries of mosses and liverworts from the Chiemgau Alps are presented. The liverworts Crossocalyx hellerianus, Diplophyllum obtusifolium, Frullania jackii, Haplomitrium hookeri, Jungermannia pumila, Lophoziopsis excisa, Marsupella emarginata, Mesoptychia heterocolpos, Porella cordaeana, Saccobasis polita, Scapania apiculata, S. paludosa, S. subalpina, Schistochilopsis opacifolia as well as Solenostoma sphaerocarpum and the mosses Amphidium mougeotii, Anomodon rugelii, Cynodontium polycarpon, Dicranella subulata, Fissidens celticus, Herzogiella striatella, Heterocladium heteropterum, Hydrogonium amplexifolium, Isothecium myosuroides, Orthotrichum rogeri, O. scanicum, Pohlia ludwigii, Schistidium robustum, Sciuro-hypnum latifolium and Thuidium recognitum are new for the region. Some habitats with special, partly supra-regional significance with regard to their bryophyte flora are presented separately. Finally, there will be a discussion of the endangerment of bryophyte species in the area.
