We provide information on the discovery of the material known as Kalanchoe rotundifolia (Haw.) Haw. (Crassulaceae) in southern Africa, and clarify the typification of the name Kalanchoe rotundifolia. The plate held at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, which was previously designated as the lectotype of the name, is in fact a neotype. This plate, published here for the first time, illustrates the staghornleaved form of the species.
