***Dr. Bin Cao is a professor at School of Medicine at Xiamen University. Dr. Cao received his PhD from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2011 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of OB/GYN at Washington University in St. Louis. In 2018, he joined Xiamen University as a faculty member in the Fujian Provincial Key Laboratory of Reproductive Health Research and the Department of OB/GYN. Dr. Cao's group is primarily interested in understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying placental development and etiologies of pregnancy complications. His research program focuses on the mechanisms governing the formation of placental barrier and host pathogen interactions at the maternal-fetal interface. Dr. Cao's research work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Cell, Nature, JEM, PNAS and Cell Host and Microbe. Dr. Cao has received numerous academic awards, including the 2016 SRI Laxmi Baxi Award, the 2017 STAT Wunderkinds Award, the 2018 Nanqiang Young Scholar Award, the 2019 Minjiang Scholar Award.
****Dr. Yan-Ling Wang is Professor at the State Key Laboratory of Stem Cell and Reproductive Biology, Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Dr. Wang received her PhD from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1998. Her group focuses on the study of the regulatory mechanisms of placental development and the pathogenesis of severe pregnancy complications including preeclampsia, early pregnancy loss and fetal growth restriction. Dr. Wang has so far published >80 peer-reviewed research articles in journals including PNAS, Cell Chem Biol, Mol Aspect Med, Hypertension, etc. She is an editorial board member for Placenta, Biology of Reproduction, and Front Endocrinology.
